(005.)Terms of Use and Copyrights
I imagine my work without any material financial gain available .
Therefore ask of every user , that my work is not yet partly or completely copied to tie into other works , which are geared towards profit .
In other uses , the sources must be indicated .
This requires the Fairnis and more I do not expect .

(010.)The structure
My database essentially consists of 5 elements.

-
(020.)Element 1.html tables
1 shown above left : The HTML pages with all the information that I have worn together .
Without exception arranged in a table . For each country , these tables are in a separate folder ( in the background invisible to the user ) , which bears the country's name .
---------------------------------------------------------------------
! There are exceptional :
-Small Countries in West Africa , with only a few data are summarized to the folder ' West Africa ' .
-The Big countries , Congo and Sudan , with many data are subdivided into multiple folders by compass.
! Recognizable in the platform - Continent map .

(030.)Element 2. Water Drawing
2. shown links below : The geographical orientation . A water drawing , for each country as a background .
Then the same information as in element 1 , shown here only geographically . And color-coordinated in places , water , ethnic groups and so on ( in the form of a JavaScript file ) .
These are closely linked ( linked ) established that one back by clicking the terms between the information in the tables and country drawings and can jump around .

-
(040.)Element 3. Platform as a control center.
3. Right - center displayed : The platform as a control center , with an Africa - overview sketch . Here you can see highlighted in red on the country you are currently in . Here you can open a whole country map in 2nd with one click. Or open one of the listed auxiliary files .
Each country folder could work independently .
The platform element 3 connects the elements 1 and 2 in the country folders to the great unity AFRICA .

-
(050.)Element 4. Search Index
4. displayed right above : a search index with an input window for individual words .
This file is a Javascript and contains all the words of the entire database with jump addresses to the appropriate files .
This directory is only words not adjusted serve the cause. Such as conjunctions and table headings.
The search element 4 compares the search term with the indexed content of the entire database . Whether it occurs it is a whole word or word fragment . If this is the case, the jump addresses there to choose from , listed .

(060.) Element 5. Thesaurus
5.Left-up the thesaurus. (Beta)
It will consist of a regional arrangement of all hyperonyms in my database.
--> Under Ethnology:
subdivision of hyperonyms (ethnicities):
regions:
! Each region is a Saparate level. A small arrow indicates in what you are. Database Now you can open this region.
Or, by clicking, jump into another.
In the regions to countries:
! In fact, by nationalities. If possible, from north to south.
In the countries:
! Residential areas of ethnic or Ethnical groups (then connected to a comas).
& Nbsp; & nbsp; & nbsp; & nbsp; If possible, from north to south.
! Clicking the name opens the usual tables with Hyperonymen and synonyms.
ß
--- Ethnical names which in no me open literature after 1930
more were mentioned.
--> Under Geography:
--- Water names.
--- Other Geographical Names. This means that all terms that no
Waters or places are.
! Right here are many domain names that coincide with the
Ethnic groups which live in them or lived. Or just
differ by a small prefix.
--- City. Here are mainly historical place names from before
to find 1930's. Current place names usually only for a better
Orientation, because I the current name for the historic site
found. Or because the place name has remained the same over the time window.
! The draw of places is sometimes very problematic because the.
Rivers, which serve as guidelines vary
are indicated. Or because the standards vary even in the templates.
! See Example: arrangement in West Africa. About the final order
I am still thinking.

(080.)The grading framework
Thus the whole event does not take place in a jumble of opening new windows , there is a framework with five predefined windows .
Each window has an internal name . This name is mentioned at every phrase with . Thus he clearly indicates in the intended window .

(090.)Preferred bibliographic sources for names Diversity.
To arrive at a rich name possible extent in an effective way I have 4 standard works, her time selected for analysis and matching.
The information on the coordinates of the concepts I have compared all of the listed standard works on compliance. Mismatches I have noted the term or the term entered separately at the different locations. I use the word deliberately term because there may be an ethnic name, but also a geographical name. Often distinguishable only by a prefix.
When I look at the Sources of Murdock and Hirschberg, then I know they have the Africanists scene considered very admirably.
I would have done it only worse.
Only the name of my third, occupation oldest candidates W.J.W.Roome I could not even see. In the Ethnological Museum Berlin just faded a card with gesammtafrikanischen information from him.
This definitely comes from the period before 1930. On the basis of information in the map I guess even from 1923 to 1925.
The excellence of this information made me repeatedly astonished and delighted. In comparison with modern works, it serves as a template for my spiritual waters sketches. In addition, it is provided with plenty of ethnic and geographical terms.
With my database that treasure is completely lifted.
Most of the terms in my database are taken from these works. These works are all listed in the bibliography.
There is a fourth in the league: Hermann Baumann. He has given me some headaches, because he's told a National Socialist attitude after. But since I am concerned with the localization and the names variety, not his scientific theories, I have taken him.
See my list of sources.

(100.)My 'Maps'
The background sketches of countries represent the picture of the waters.
They are all drawn by me personally.
They have been extracted from many historical and contemporary maps, but give very different information. Therefore, they can be seen only as a practical compromise.

(110.)Basically Sources + Disclaimer.
Basically :
In my work, each term is provided with a list of sources .
Everyone uses my information to make informed work is absolutely committed to the specified by me to control sources themselves are correct. I have only the options of an archivist . Namely the information by comparison of individual sources to check for plausibility. That is not enough for guarantees . I therefore reject any liability.

-
(120.)Intended Purpose of my work.
In my work, it's all about the location of the term .
Not the essay why there.
In my work , the collection of vast amounts of terms , it's all about bringing something , and establishes order in the name of diversity .
Not more!

-
(130.)That is why current and historical terms.
The intention of my work :
Nobody has to find good maps difficulties today works with the current geo- names , apart from Google & Co ..
It's important to maintain not only current concepts and last terms . On the one just does not reach so easily . Thus the origin of objects in private or public collectors better , simpler , can be detected more quickly .
Older properties are also provided with earlier indications of origin . Sometimes you may not even know what kind of name is .
My spatial drawings should serve ethnic and geographical concepts to bring in connection . Useful for objects with different kind of origin concepts .

-
(140.)Time slot.
The source of the collected works of concepts derived from different times. This means that the terms of the oldest sources may already be past. Or they have survived to the present day and are thus currently.
To obtain a better overview I have in the terms of shortcuts.
With: tr (ethnicities)
to (locations)
wa (water)
pa (other geogr.termes).
Followed by the numbers 19 (prior to 1930) or 20 (1931 to date).
Example 1:
If a term the abbreviation wearing TR19, so it means this ethnic group I have found in any work after 1930 more. Seekers have for now been found,
-Is this ethnicity extinct,
-was the name incorrectly stated,
-or is this ethnic group have been forgotten in modern works?
-or, or, or the like.
Example 2:
Where a term the abbreviation to20 or none at all, so it is a place with the current name. Will the seeker to know whether this name has already received from the period before the 1931st So he can see if I, despite age-source the abbreviation to20 or Name_aktuell stated here. However, I have identified here only late that this information is also interesting. That's why I'm going to have a grudge this information in a correction passage in some countries.
Conclusion: The statement by an abbreviation, there is always, if a term of before 1930. A term of after 1930 may still be without time codes.

(150.)Statistics is nice ( and interesting ... :-)
The overall ( total ) numbers are now included .
Useful it is when I have broken down the overall numbers .
How , for example, Tanzania :
I have 464 Ethniennamen found . Of tr20 = 359 , are also listed today .
But tr19 = 105 are no longer named. What about it?
Resolved? Extinct? Misspelled?
I know from my time in Berlin Ethnological Museum , there are objects with geographical indications which are no longer present in the current works .
Also interesting : of the 464 Ethniennamen are 249 'only' synonyms .
This also applies to water names , place names and other geographical names.

(160.)Guest Counter
The users of my free information they behave like a shy deer.
Just leave no Bravo or thank for my years of work.
Much more than the page count and a diagram of my provider, what percentage of me from what countries visited , I do not see .
Also, do not record what terms were searched .
Had the user success or not ?
Has he understood my controls ?
All this I do not know . Is important in order to improve my database .
Therefore, it would be very useful if would be used from time to scrapbook . Or an entry in Facebook . Or even a brief eM@il.
- ^on top
-
(170.)What happens next ?
I found no precedent for such a database .
It is an experiment . I think that I have opened a niche .
Through learning by doing , I have worked out much what I could have done better .
While all of my data are available .
But the clarity / order could be improved.
Also there will be errors .
I am in a second work cycle . To bring the clarity of all ethnicities tables on a good level .
I hope thereby entecken as many entry and programming errors . ( ! )
See also Statistics under revision .
There is still a problem : My age is soon to 70 years . If I can find no way like my database remains intact after my death on the Internet . Then my work will be immediately disappeared in the time stream.
